ArcWeb Services are a collection of tools that enable users to integrate mapping, routing, and geographic reporting into their Web, wireless, or desktop applications. With ArcWeb Services, users can create a complete spatial solution without hosting any of the content or software on their own machines.

ArcWeb Services lets users perform a variety of spatial query and proximity searches on a host of datasets provided by some of the industry’s leading data providers, as well as on custom datasets uploaded and maintained by users. ArcWeb Services also allows users to create simple or multipoint routes, basemaps and color-coded maps, demographic reports, and much more. These individual tools can be linked to solve geographic problems.

ArcWeb capabilities are built on ESRI's industry-leading GIS software. ESRI, with decades of experience and proprietary knowledge in the GIS industry, will continue to enrich ArcWeb Services by providing not only standard mapping tools but also sophisticated analytical GIS tools to solve spatial problems.

Current users of ArcWeb can see where visitors to their Web site are located to help them determine the demographics of customers or pinpoint locations for a new store. Users can create complex routes that consider the optimal order of stops as well as factors such as current traffic conditions. Moreover, users can create hundreds of different thematic maps for a variety of reporting and analysis purposes.
