Transportation
With access to an extensive street network, you can immediately create Web applications that show customers where you are located, provide driving directions, plot addresses, and identify points of interest. By incorporating live traffic data, you can also show your customers the best route to take during rush hour. Street NetworksArcWeb Services give you access to up-to-date street information from the world’s leading commercial data providers: Tele Atlas, NAVTEQ, and MapData Sciences (MDS). Not only can you create high-quality street maps with this data, but you can also incorporate your personal locations and display them together on a map in a Web, wireless, or desktop application. Most of the street data sources include a complete transportation network with freeways, highways, main roads, local roads, paths, and unsealed roads. Other related features include rivers; lakes; railway lines and stations; and points of interest such as airports, beaches, bridges, landmarks, sports venues, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and parks. Traffic InformationReal-time traffic information for interstate highways, expressways, and other major arterial roads enhances the driving directions you can offer your customers. Traffic incidents are identified by cause such as a construction impediment, special event, or another specified incident. These impediments can then be used to create alternative routes. An icon representing the traffic incident is displayed on a street map. A descriptive text tag is also shown on the map to provide the user with further details such as specific cause, length of delay, and alternate routes if that information is available. Traffic conditions are updated every 15 minutes. ArcWeb Services offer street data for North America, Europe, Australia/New Zealand, and the world. Traffic information is currently available for the United States.
